Shade and privacy are what turn a good patio into one that gets used at four in the afternoon in July.

These are the built structures that sit on top of the hardscape: cedar pergolas over a patio, screening panels and fences that block a neighbour's window or hide the utilities, and the posts, footings and stonework that hold all of it up.

Pergolas and covered patios

Cedar pergolas on heavy timber posts, sized and positioned for the shade you actually want at the time of day you are out there. Where a project needs full cover rather than dappled shade, we build the roof instead.

Screening

Screening fences and panels for the parts of a yard that need to disappear: the AC units, the trash, the gap between two houses that sit too close together.

Built to match

Because the structures go in with the same crews and the same stone as the patio and the walls, the piers, caps and coursing match what is already on the ground rather than approximating it.
